Chain Driven Belting

Chainweave Belts

The belts are used to secure an absolute straight drive, provide additional strength, and obtain positive speed control. This construction is used where positive drive and definite belt speed control is imperative and where belt slippage and tracking, usually present on friction drives, would cause faulty operation.

Penn Wire chain driven belts can be designed to your requirements in a wide variety of types. There are three basic components of a chainweave belt: fabric, cross-support members, and chain.

Fabrics to carry the load:

  • Conventional Weave

  • Balanced Weave

  • Double Balanced Weave

  • Compound Balanced Weave

  • Rod Reinforced Weave

Cross members to support the load:

  • Round Bars

  • Flat Bars

  • Channels

  • angles

Chain to drive the load:

  • Standard roller chain

  • Double pitch roller chain

  • Pintle chain

  • Engineering class chain

  • Attachment type chain

Other accessories such as flights, flexplates, dividers, and turned-up fabric edges may be furnished with any chain driven belt.

Please consult our engineering staff for any assistance in determining the best-suited belt for your application.
